The pandemic curtailed my travel. These images attempt to capture the vivid kaleidoscope of impressions from various destinations. Beyond the impressions, imaginary landscapes take form.
Three Geisha – A reflection on the perfected grace of the Geisha.

Collage – The impact of travel often only sinks in after returning home. Sitting in front of my computer, the overwhelming sense of the sacred in other cultures overtakes me. Working with my images, I’ve used collaging to convey the essence of the kaleidoscope of a sacred landscape.

Asian Interlude – While traveling I try to capture the feel of a place by using various processes such as multiple exposures and in camera movement (ICM). I also using the processes made popular by Pep Ventoza to create a soft impressionistic feel. After I’m home I use a a variety of digital applications to create many-layered and textured images. Finally, I’ve also been introduced to the world of Infrared Photography as a new way to explore our diverse world.

Four Seasons – Moving beyond collaging, the form of a naked tree inspired me to have fun by creating a series of imaginary landscapes depicting the four seasons.

Black and White and Wonder – I love minimalism in photography and am often drawn to high key imagery for its use of negative space and the ability to focus on a single subject. In a similar vein, I love creating imaginary landscapes that blend the real into a sharply focussed surreal.
